David Chai's Behind My Behind

In the summer of 2014, I was privileged to be a part of Behind My Behind's production crew, a 3 minute 2d/stop motion animation written and directed by the almighty David Chai. Here are my contributions to the short film. I was part of visual development, clean-up (ink and paint), and a bit of animation.

Self Portrait

News Illustration - Slenderman Stabbing

Body Horror Technique

A few paints from my advanced illustration class. I love all things creepy, and the class allows me to develop a style based on that subject matter.

Unfinished Self Portrait

I'm so out of practice with digital painting because of animation classes last semester, so I figured I'd start with a selfie to get things going this winter break. I'm also trying to get more comfortable with Photoshop, but I still have a tendency of using my Painter habits (relying on soft edges, trying to blend seamlessly, only using one layer). Not necessarily bad habits, but I could use a more solid workflow since I'll be taking 117a this coming spring semester.

Goodbye summer

Last 3 pages of my sketchbook. I only have 110 pages total so I'm gonna start a new one tomorrow. Besides, I started late May and missed a week in July. I totally  need to make up for that.

2 More Weeks!

Some recent sketchbook pages. I'm 8 pages shy of completing the whole sketchbook, but I'm lacking a lot of unique subjects/locations. I need to hit a museum or something before this thing is due...
